The solution I used was issued as changeset 8366 in the wordpress trac repository. The only suggestions I can think of are to triple-check that you've upgraded your entire installation to 2.6.1 or greater, that your permalink string is correct, and finally, that your files match what was in the 2.6.1 upgrade.
