DocBrowser
About DocBrowser
DocBrowser is a simple program written in C# that enables easily distracted developers to browse documentation and APIs easily. It uses a form-embedded Internet Explorer engine (ew, I know) to render pages, and supports loading both local and remote documentation. That is it! A reduced functionality web page renderer.
Features
- Capable of loading local and remote pages
- Comes with preset bookmarks of documentation and APIs
- It won’t steal your food and drink all your beer
- There is a photograph in the ‘About’ window taken by Angela Tsimberov!
Requirements
- Windows 2000/XP/Vista
- .NET Framework 2.0
Screenshot
Only one. Come on, there isn’t a lot to show! (That was the design goal, after all.)
Cost
DocBrowser is, and always will be, free. It only took a couple hours to put together, and maintenance certainly isn’t going to become a full time job. I hope someone will find it useful though!
License
Right now there is no license. It will be GPL’d soon enough, I just have to get around to doing it. This means of course that the project will be open source, so you can all make fun of my variable naming conventions and comments. Whee!
Download
The download link for the latest version will always be available here: download DocBrowser!
Tips and Tricks
- Just hitting enter in the address bar will take you back home if you ever get lost.
- Try opening a word document! If you have requirements docs or otherwise in Word format, this is a good way to view them.
Comments, Bug Reports, and Feature Requests
I absolutely *will* implement requested features and fix bugs. Leave them and any comments you may have in the comments!
